Job Description
Primary Purpose
The Head of Sales will be responsible for developing and growing all aspects of the External Sales department in the respective markets. They will manage client partnerships in Europe, UK and the Middle East and lead, and work closely with in-country UK Sales Manager to develop and drive growth in the respective markets.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Actively contribute to the development of sales strategies in Europe, the United Kingdom and the Middle East
- Drive the implementation of sales strategies with a focus on innovation and growth
- Build strong relationships with key customers, and collaborate with various teams to achieve exceptional outcomes
- Represent the Company at Trade Shows and International Sales trips where required
- Administer annual rate allocations for trade partners
- Administer sales reports as needed and provide feedback to the reservations team, ensuring effective communication and management of feedback
- Collaborate with the reservations team on booking fulfilment as and when required
- Contribute to the development of a Partner product sales strategy for the respective markets
- Host agent educationals and familiarisation trips as and when required
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices
- Update the sales CRM
Candidate profile
Qualification:
- Matric with Maths
- Tertiary qualification in Sales/Marketing or Travel & Tourism an advantage
Experience:
- 5 years proven sales and marketing experience
- Having sales relationships in the respective markets will be advantageous
- Previous management/development of a brand will be advantageous
- Accountability for financial results
- Experience in handling trade relationships
- International sales experience is advantageous
- Computer Literate (Microsoft Office, email, Internet)
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate and mentor staff and trade partners
- Ability to assess international source markets
- Ability to identify trends and respond accordingly with products and sales strategies that increase Wilderness business, financial results and maximize market share
- Ability to market and sell the products accurately and according to client requirements
