Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and highly experienced Mechanic to join our team. The Mechanic will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on various vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of automotive systems, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, excellent manual dexterity, and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on vehicles and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety standards.
  • Diagnose various mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and procedures.
  • Perform repairs and replacements of faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
  • Accurately document all repairs, parts used for billing purposes.
  • Test vehicles and equipment after repairs to ensure their proper functioning and address any remaining issues.
  • Communicate with Line Manager and provide clear explanations of repair options, costs, and estimated completion times.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) while working on vehicles and operating heavy tools and machinery.
  • Stay updated on the latest technological advancements, repair techniques, and tools in the automotive industry.
  • Keep the workshop and tools clean, organized, and in good working condition.

    Qualification and Skills:
  • Vocational or technical education in Diesel or Motor Mechanics class 1 certification is required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a Mechanic, preferably in a workshop environment.
  • Proficient knowledge of vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
  • Has experience working with Toyota 4X4’s i.e., Land Cruiser and Hilux
  • Willing to use mechanical expertise on generator engines, tractors, tire changing, wheel alignment, trailer repairs etc.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to resolve complex mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Physical stamina to stand, bend, lift heavy objects, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to use various diagnostic tools and equipment, including scanners, wrenches, jacks, and lifts.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to the Line Manager in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
