Job Description

Northern Air Maintenance is an Approved Aircraft Maintenance Organization with its main base at Maun International Airport and line stations at Kasane International Airport and Victoria Falls International Airport. Our organization is approved by the Civil Aviation Authorities of Botswana, Namibia and Zimbabwe. We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic and dedicated individual with passion and proven experience in the aviation maintenance field to join our team. The applicant will initially be based in Maun but should be prepared to rotate in and out of our line stations as well as travel into remote areas from time to time. The fleet is biased towards Cessna and Pratt and Whitney turbine-powered aircraft.

SENIOR AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEER
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To carry out service, repair, inspection, modifications, overhaul and maintenance of all aircraft power plant, airframes and components including preventative maintenance, defects rectification, fault-finding and any other related duties within the scope of an Airframe and Powerplant Senior Engineer as well as co-managing manpower and resources. The incumbent will also be expected to carry out maintenance and defect rectification away from the main base or line stations whenever necessary.

BRIEF KEY PERFORMSNCE AREAS
 Deliver a quality and timeous service to aircraft under maintenance
 troubleshoot and rectify defects without comebacks
 complete all relevant documentation before release of aircraft to service and ensure that all relevant information is accurate and captured in the records
 reference and correctly interpret all publications relating to tasks being carried out
 Supervision of Engineers, Junior engineers, Engineers assistants, Interns and Apprentices working under supervision of the Senior Engineer to ensure that they maintain a quality product & service and account for their time
 Delivery of performance standards
 Train and guide subordinates on the job with regard and reference to Airworthiness Regulations, Technical data and publications, Maintenance Procedure Manual etc.
 Evaluation and monitoring performance of subordinates.
 complete timesheets and account for all the time worked
 Accountable for all the assets allocated to the individual and department as well as ensuring all referenced publications are current and up to date.

QUALIFICATIONS
 Current CAAB Airframe and Powerplant AME License with applicable ratings endorsed therein.
 Aircraft Mechanic Diploma, Trade Certificate or equivalent.
 Valid Driver’s License.
 Human Factors certificate

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
 C208 series, GA8, C100&200 series, PT6 series, Lycoming series and Continental series ratings endorsed in AMEL. Additional ratings and licenses e.g. Aviation Repair Specialist, NDT etc would be advantageous.
 8 years practical experience post qualification with traceable references.
 Minimum 5 years as a fully certifying engineer on aircraft predominantly maintained by NAM.
 Have adequate personal tools to safely and effectively carry out required functions.

COMPETENCIES
 Proven 5 years practical experience as a certifying engineer with Engine borescope inspections, Hot Section Inspections, engine and propeller changes and rigging, component servicing, visual inspections as well as solid trouble shooting and fault isolation abilities.
 Well versed with CAAB regulations, AME license privileges, responsibilities and limitations
 Computer literate.
 Interpersonal skills and People management skills
 Communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
 Integrity, honesty and good work ethic
 Good understanding of aerodynamics as well as excellent mechanical & technical Skills
 Knowledge of aircraft safety rules and safe work practices
