PRIMARY PURPOSE
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) acts as a strategic advisor and operational support to Wilderness Rwanda, ensuring HR strategies align with business objectives. This role drives employee engagement, compliance, and service culture while delivering efficient HR operations and fostering a positive workplace experience.
This position is based in Kigali with travel to lodges as required.
Detailed Responsibilities
- Strategic HR Partnership
- Act as a strategic advisor and operational HR partner to Wilderness Rwanda, ensuring alignment between HR initiatives and business objectives.
- Partner with department heads to understand workforce needs, operational challenges, and service delivery requirements, providing guidance on manpower planning, workforce optimization, and organizational effectiveness.
- Support the implementation and monitoring of HR policies, compliance requirements, and performance management processes.
- Assist in the preparation of HR reports, presentations, and data insights for senior management decision-making.
- Drive HR modernization initiatives, including employee engagement, service culture enhancement, employer branding, and workforce planning, ensuring timely and consistent execution across departments.
- Represent the HR Manager when delegated, ensuring seamless and continuous HR support.
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process on Simplify.HR for Wilderness Rwanda, ensuring adequate lead time for recruitment.
- Prepare onboarding material/logistics, conduct new-hire induction to ensure smooth assimilation into operations.
- Liaise with head of departments to conduct capacity needs assessment, formulate capacity development & training plan and ensure skills transfer.
- Ensure digitalization of employees’ files in the applicable HRIS.
- Assist in the administration of staff attendance and leave including annual, circumstantial and Maternity leave through Employee Self Service Portal (ESS).
- Manage medical insurance.
- Update employee data in Sage 300 People, retrieve monthly HR dashboards & key HR metrics from (turnover, headcount, leave statistics, etc.) and ensure data accuracy for internal reporting and audits.
- Facilitate goal-setting, feedback discussions, and follow-up on development plans, assist leaders in managing performance gaps and improvement plans.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource
Experience:
- A strong and proven HR background.
- At least 5 years of HR experience in a similar Human Resource role.
- Strong knowledge of labor laws and Tourism & Hospitality HR processes.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, shift-based environment.
- High proficiency in HRIS systems.
