PRIMARY PURPOSE
We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative and passionate Field Guide, to provide quality trips and information to guests, in a professional and friendly manner according to Wilderness standards.
*This position is based in Camps
Detailed Responsibilities
General
- Presenting a good image at all times - this being: efficiency, courtesy, helpfulness, grooming and a good appearance.
- Maintaining the required level of discipline and manner at all times
- Ensuring that you are abiding by the Company’s code of employment practice and the Namibian Labour Law.
- Achieving the best service possible in the care and comfort of the guest.
- Establishing a welcoming atmosphere and a courteous and reliable standard of service.
- Ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and general upkeep in all areas for which you are responsible.
- Establishing good working relationships with other departments and employees.
- Keeping the manager and supervisor informed of all matters requiring attention.
- Evaluating and following up on repairs and maintenance on all areas for which you are responsible.
- These duties are necessary in order to achieve ultimate guest satisfaction.
Skills
- Applying rules of personal and general hygiene.
- Correct use of cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Locating and giving information.
- Guiding skills as stipulated by WSN standards of excellence.
- Proper driving techniques with a Land Rover.
- Basic First Aid.
- Communicating using good interpersonal and selling skills, being able to relate well to guests, peers and superiors.
- Dexterity and the use of equipment and tools.
- Use of firefighting equipment, reporting hazards, lost and found items and dealing with unusual events.

- Ability to follow instructions.
- Working independently with little supervision.

- Ability to source and utilise information appropriately.

- Qualification Requirements
- Training: WSN level one Guide Training, PDP, First Aid level 1, Divers License
- Experience: Pref 6 months previous experience in Guiding.
- Language Skills Conversational & work-related knowledge of English is essential.
- Other languages will be an added advantage.
